History

HomeGrown Software Development started in the mid '90s as a small software company dedicated to keeping software simple and inexpensive. However, it seemed most potential clients thought software had to be expensive to be any good. Sales were poor so I stopped commercial work but kept the company name to release some freeware titles I thought might be useful and/or fun.

Present

I currently maintain several software titles because I use them myself and any time I feel I need more functionality I will go back to the source and add it. It simply makes sense to update the downloadable versions at the same time.

Purpose of this Site

This web page is only intended as a front end for anyone who gets to this address accidentally or by following the download link from some of the software titles I've made available on different sites. It isn't intended to be a true 'company' web page as I only do this as a hobby these days. It might, however, grow into a 'how to' web site as I add information about networking etc. for my own benefit.
